UMPIRES' ASSOCIATION
The annual meeting of the Umpires' Association was held last week. Mr. W. R. Bock occupied the chair. There was a good attendance of members. The secretary's report congratulated the association on the steady progress made during the season -, eight members being added to the roll, which numbered 30. Umpires were appointed on twentyfour Saturdays during the season, and, in addition to several representative matches, the average number acting each week was eighteen. A larger number acted in lower grade matches than has been the case hitherto. The report recorded its appreciation of the assistance given by the [ Wellington Cricket Association, also the Press.
The balance-sheet showed a good credit balance.
Several speakers spoke in terma of praise of the satisfactory position of the association and the work done by the officers during the year.
The report and balance-sheet were adopted.
Five new members were elected.

Bock (re-elected); lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. S. Hood (re-elected); appointment committee, Messrs. W. R. Bock, D. M'Kenzie, and W. S*. Hood (reelected) ; examination committee, Messrs. W. R. Bock, I). M'Kenzie, and J. M'Bain; representative on management committee Wellington Cricket Association, Mr. W. R. Bock.
