APPRECIATION,
An item in the annual report of the Wellington Cricket Association was as follows :—"Your committee has again to express its appreciation of the sympathetic and courteous treatment it invariably received from the superintendent of Reserves, Mr. J. G. M'Kenzie, and the staff on the various grounds. So many wickets wore required during the season that occasionally there was a little congestion, but there waa never any friction, and the harmonious relations that obtained in respect had a great deal to do with the pleasantness of tho season. Your committee is aleo indebted to the headmaster of Scots College, whose generosity in foregoing the ground fees collected for games played there materially assisted the finances of the association; to Mrs. A. E. Salmon, Mrs. Brewer, and other ladies who dispensed afternoon tea at the representative fixtures, the directory of the- New Zealand Picture Supplies, and the V.M.C.A. for the use of rooms for committee meetings; to the Press, the honorary members, and many others who in varying ways assisted the committee during the season."
