A WIN FOR HOSPITAL.

Hospital again showed their inconsißtency by defeating Diamonds in the semifinal of the Consolation Cup last Saturday. Both teams were; at full strength,' so. there was no advantage on that score. Diamond had beaten Hospital twice this season in the League, and this, combined with their recent heavy defeat of Thistle, made them favourites.'. Hospital, however, again played one of, theii exf.ra good games, especially in the second half, and quite confounded the critics.' Diamonds, too, generally played' the best football, that is, in combined play, but they lacked finish, although many fine shots were saved or blocked by the defenders./ Hospital is the 1 first half were spasmodic in attack, and it was only in the second half, when they began to swing the ball about, that they became really effective. Then they were really fine and dashing, and only splendid goal-keeping by Tarrant kept the /'score wrthin the limits of the result.

A Rugby game between Otaki and 1 Portnia was 1 playedl as a curtain raiser, and the Rugbyites were well pleased with the manner in which th« Hospital Club saw to the arrangements'for their game.
