GOVERNMENT'S BUILDING POLICY.
' "The policy of the Government not to orect any, buildings unless they are.,abso6iitely essential, applies as much to poet offices aa anything else,".stated the Post-master-General, the Hon. J. G. Coatea, in the House of Representatives last< night. However, in some districts there could not be any further delay, as far jjs- post offices were concerned, and tenders were now being, called for the traction of new buildings at Damnevirke, Stratford, and Patea.^ Other absolutely essential work wae being, put in hand, but else had to 'wait. Many towiis were "on the list;" but a little patience would have to be exercised for * some time to come.
