LONDON, 26th August. The North-Eastera Railway Company in Britain will shortly use to convey the "Flying Scotsman" between York and Newcastle the first highspeed electric locomotive built in Britain. It will be absolutely i safe, drawing a train weighing 450 tons at a maximum speed of 90 miles per hour, and ,an average of 60, miles per hour, over long distances. If it is successful the whole North-Eaat-ern system will use electric in preference %temn locomotives.
