The German exchange rate- touched 11,000 to the £1, but recovered in the afternoon, apparently in the hope that the Allies and th« German Government would take joint action to find, a way out of the deadlock. It closed at abont *!$«). The French exchange is 48.70 (?) francs to the £1, and the Italian is 102J,Kre. i
