SYDNEY, 25th August. In1 the Eqbity • Court, Albert IJrigg, city surveyor applied' for an ex pajte in. junction to restrain the City Council from proceeding upon a resolution passed by the councu directing ah in■weetigation into the city surveyor's department. The awilicatjon arose out of write issued by Brigg on let August claiming £2000 each from the "Evening and "Daily Telegraph" for alleged s libel. The applicant stated that if the council's resolution were carried out it would greatly prejudice hie actions and interfere with the due course of justice. The Court granted the applicant leave to serve a short notice of motion for an injunction on the City Council for Thursday next. , '/
