■ A Ministerial opinion of the report of the Taxation Committee was given by the Hon. W. Nosworthy in his speech on the Budget last night. The Minister said that after going into figures and facts the Taxation Committee came hack to the point that it started from"; It made recommendations, but it had to admit the difficulties of those recommendations. The country must have revenue. It was easier to talk than to find remedies. He ■was not finding fault, and there were some of the recommendations that he agreed with. The country had been cut up to a considerable extent during the last few years, especially for the soldier settlers! .
