NEW YORK, 24th August.
With the railway heads preparing to fight the strike to a finish, the Sioux City Trades and Labour Assembly passed a resolution calling on the American Federation of Labour to order a general strike of all railroad employees.
NEW YORK, 23rd August. The conference of railway executives and strikers failed over' the seniority issue, the workers refusing to accept the executives' ultimatum ■ that loyal employees must be given preference in promotion. Mi1. Jewell stated: "This means a fight to the finish. Four hundred thousand workers are prepared to carry on the strike to the end."
