FRANCE EXPRESSES AGREEMENT.

(Received 25J,h August, 8 a.m.) - PARIS, 24th August. The Government has agreed to the general proposals of the British Note in regard to Asia Minor, and has requested Britain to fix a date for the conference.
, [A recent cablegram announced that a British Note had been received by France^ proposing that an, international inquiry be held regarding the position of Asia - Minor.. The estimated cost was 100,000 gold francs, of which France was asked to subscribe one-third. The French reply stated that France had" not the credits at its disposal for this' pui'pose, and could not open any owing to' Parliament being out of session. A further message said Britain had intimated her willingness to convene a conference in order that the Allies might formulate proposals to Angora, Constantinople, and Athens.. Italy invited the conference ■Ao meet at Venice.]
