SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
The men of-the sea' enjoyed the round of happiness provided by their hostess, Mrs.' J. Patersori, at the Sailors': Friend Society, on Thursday .1 "The Mesdames 3.Paterson, Moncktan,-Dempster, Judd, and Edwardsi,. and,the Missei Passau, , Judd,"and Hannah were tfie performers.Madame Dempster and -Miss Hannah were at the pianol-'Skill, fun, and determination' were displayed in tht competitions. Prizes came- from: Picton, the hostess, and'Mrs._'Fletcher/1 and were won by the' Mahana, Otarama, anc the men in port. - Many guests had f , most lenjoyable'.time oh Wednesday ai y the "kitchen, tea" for.
