THREATENING CONDITIONS
The weather has been cold and unsettled with strong southerly and westerly winds predominating, and ram has fallen generally. Although the barometer his risen the rise has been a slight ono1 owing to the development of a secondary "low* off the West Coast, increasing southerly winds may be expected, with cold -squally weather, heavy showers in many parts, and snow in the high country of the South Island
