SLIPS ON MAIN TRUNK LINE
THROUGH JTRAFFIC DELAYED

Owing to the heavy rain after the long period of frosty weather, slips hare occurred on the Main Trunk line, and have caused stoppages of traffic On Tuesday afternoon a slip bjtw»en Utiku and Mangaweka caused the 5,20 p-m train from Marton to Its delayed for half an hour A more serious stoppage occurred this morning, a mile south of Hihltahi, where all through, traffio to Auckland was blocked The train' arnvmjr at Taihape at 4 am from. Ohakune ran into the dip, and the engine left the Tails, but no damage was observable The slip is bean* rapidly removed, and the Auckland express, due at Taih>pe at 6 30 am, is expected to get through to Taihape about lpm If the rpin continues, other slipe are likely to occur. ~ *
i It is probable that the Aucklandl express w;ll be about six hours late m amving at Wellington According to information received at Thorndon station the tram was five hours lato in leaving Ohakune, and over six hour;; late at Taihape Unless any tune is made up on the journey from Taihape', the tiain will not reach Wellington until after 7 pm
