The' * fortnightly meeting of ' the Brooklyn Mettiodist Musical, Literary, and Debating Society was held on Wed nesday evening Mr W H Hindle^pVesided over'a fair attendance of members The subject for the evening was a lecture on "Early Wellington," by Mr W A Edwards (secretary of the Early Settlers Association) Mr Edwards dealt interest mglv with the subject from the landing of the pioneers in 1839 He referred to personal items of interest, atod gave a general description of the life of our early settlors At the conclusion of his address a hearty vote of thanks was carried 'by acclamation
