PEACE-TIME ACTIVITIES.
Mr. T. Munt pieuded at » meeting of the Peace-Time branch of the Red Cross ■ Society held yesterday afternoon. A communication was received''from Dr. Sand, Director-General for: the : League of* Bed Cross Societies, Geneva,'■■';•" outlining, the great programme of Peace , Time Activity, ■ upon which ' the ■• Red Cross societies throughout the -.:, world ,had embarked. The efforts so far made in expanding widely among the public -. principles of hygiene, which would keep '' the ' nations more vigorous,, more pros-.._-• perous, and more free from imisery re- •' suiting from neglect of their health had ,)"■■ been attended with eminently■isatisfas-1; '' tory results. The Eed Crbss is .charged ' to assist in _ every, way the task, 'of its ' member societies in the domain of the general organisation', of popular health instrjuction, of public health musing, and of the Bed Cross moyemerit.' - • . ' The appointments of Dr. L.. M. L. ' Morgan to'_ the position of Organiser, and of Sister Lewis (late of the Orthopaedic Hospital, Trenthani)' to.'that-of, . Red Cross Nurse were confirmed.!.
