STORE SAFE REMOVED.; (it miaSAPH —miss association) AUCKLAND, 17th 'August At the Police Court, Charles Murphy, aged 24, and Arahie Taylor, aged 33, were charged with the theft of foui motor-cars on 14th and 20th July, and with breaking and entering and theft at Greenlane, Mount Albert, Auckland, and Pokeno, on 9th and 20th July At Pokeno a safe was removed from a store and £60 in cash and goods stolen The total value being £496 A fanner near Pokeno said he heard I three explosions about 5 o'clock on Monday, -21st July, and at daybreak, Mur I phy informed him that accused's car was stuck in the road Witness dragged, it I out with his horses. A garage proprietor at Newmarket said he saw one of the stolen cars m the street, and watched at 'Murphy went up and ,began pouring benzine in, but became suspicious, and ran away Witnass followed him into a tramcar, and handed him to the police * -Taylor pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial Murphy pleaded guilty, and was committed for. sentence
