WEATHER CONDITIONS

After a very fine week-end, during which fair weather, with light southerly winds predominating, was experienced in most parts of the country, the conditions locally were still fair to-day except for a little light rain. The past two nights have been very cold, hard frosts being recorded in many parts. Locally there were 7.7 degrees of frost registered this morning, and 10 degrees yesterday morning. The barometer is likely' to rise everywhere, and moderate to strong south-easterly winds are probable north of Kawhia and Napier and southerlies elsewhere. The weather generally is likely to be fair to cloudy, but dull and misty conditions, with scattered showers, are probable in the East Coast and southernmost district*. Another very cold night is probable everywhere.
