THE FUEL SHORTAGE

BRITISH COAL OEDEKED.

NEW YORK, 22nd July. Over 500,000 tons of English coal have bean ordered in the last few days \n relieve the shortage in the Eastern States, and further contracts are being negotiated. Thirteen steamero were chartered on Friday to transport this coal. The United States Shipping Board announces that 550 /ships, capable of carrying two million tons of British coal, are available.
