RUAPEHU, FEOM SOUTHAMPTON.

' The New Zealand Shipping Company', liner Bniipehu arrived In tho stream at Wellington at 9.50 a.m. yesterday from Southampton and Xoniiou, via Panama, and berthed at 1 p.m. at the King's Wharf. The vessel left Southampton on the 9th June, and experienced One ■weather on the run to Colon. MoKellar, R.N.R., retains command of the vessel, and his officers are :— Chief officer, Mr. G. Kennell; second officer, Mr. H. D. Freeman; third officer, Mr. N. Rice; fourth officer, Mr. F. A. Bishop; surgeon, Dr. J. W. Varndole, F.R.C.S.; chief engineer, Mr. J. Scott; steward-in-charge, Mr. W, Scones. The passenger-list appeared in last Saturday's issue.

A dense fog, purely local, enveloped Wellington harbour yesterday morning, and the sounding of ilrens was an indication that vessels were experiencing some difficulty in getting to their berths. The Kuapehu, just in from London, was lost In the fog as soon as she entered the harbour, but she was berthed at tlie King's Wharf without mishap.
