Great interest has been aroused by the fact that Imelda Fama in. playing". Schumann's wonderful " Carnaval " at her pianoforte recital at the Concert Chamber next Tuesday. This highly difficult work, one of the most fascinating "■ Romance " pieces, is an acknowledged test-piece, and is usually associated with such players ar Paderewski, Rosenthal, and other "giants of the keyboard:" Three Palmgien sketches—" The -Sea " (a storm), " Night in May," and a captivating "Bird Song"—should also "attract.
