MR. PARTON'S CAMPAIGN.
Mr. A. W. Parton addressed)' a wellattended meeting of Bay residents, held in the bowling pavilion last ■ ■ Mr. E. J. Colley preeided, and introduced the candidate, who spoke on the tramway question, finance, municipal trading, city development, and the second Mount.... Victoria tunnel. The ■ speaker laid great' stress on a good roads. policy, and how the progress of a district was. hampered if under the handicap of bad roads arid no footpaths. .On the motion of Mr. J. 0. Shorland, the meeting unanimously agreed; to support Mr. Parton in his campaign, and all present resolved to do everything possible to secure his return. The candidate briefly replied to many questions.
