WIRELESS CHAIN
POSITION RECONSIDERED
HIGH POWER STATION TO BE BUILT.

Mr.' Vr-Ql Kelleway',' Poslmaister'-'Gen-eral, ■ stated in the House of Commons, in reply to .a question in regard to the wireless chains, that after further consideration, the Government had decided to- erect a wireless station in England of the ultimate power contemplated' by the expert commission, instead of the smaller power proposed to be used in the first instance. This will provide direct commercial' communication with India, South Africa, and Australia. A station will also be erected in India capabld of direct communication with Australia, South Africa, and England. As a corollary to this decision, it is proposed that the second station in Egypt and East Africa'shall be'deferred, and the question of erecting stations 'at Singapore and Hongkong reconsidered.
