TOKIO, 7th July. Japan has warned the Pekin Government that owing to the danger caused by bandits to the Japanese residents in Chientao, if Ohjna fails to do her duty and protect them, necessity might compel Japan to send troops to the affected region, though she is reluctant tc take such action..
PEKIN, Bth July. The Chinese Government has promised Japan that abe will protect Japanese to the utmost itt Chientao, although the military are admittedly unable to control the situation.
