Wright (Wellington Sub-aiibs)-gave notice of a question, asking if tho local bodies pooled their antecedent liabilities the Government would guarantee tho loan. In a note he said tile Government.guaranteed loan could be raised at; 5 per cent", at par, whereas the best the local bodies could do would be at Si per cent, at £98. A loan of. £3,000,000 would be required. Mr. W.;-H. Field (Otaki) wished to asfe tho Prime Minister if any action had been taken, as suggested by Mr., J. A. ■Na-eh, for.the'sale' of New Zealand besf to the Britisn Government, so as to assist the farmers who were struggling to exist on the present starvation prices. (Proceeding.) / .
