The bombardment of the rebel strongholds in SackviUe-street continued all night, -with intenae machine-gun rifle fire. ■

Nationals concentrated in Kingstown and Bootersiown left in motor-lorries for the Dublin hills. l

To-day's battle was highly spectacular. Armoured cars were constantly in action, while the smoke bomb barrage concealed the aiormers, -who did good execution ■with hand grenadea. Thus the Free State attackers systematically advanced from Nelson's Pillar along Sackvillestrcet, the tramways office being the first captured. The rebels replied with vigorous rifle fire, but as the -day went on nearly all the sniping posts were captured. Free State troops stormed the General Post Office and took thirty prisoners. Late in the evening the Republicans were confioed.\to three hotels, namely, the Gresham, Granville, and Crown. These are old brick buildings and could easily be shattered if the Government choose to. do the neceseary damage. , " ■ ' i A Free" State communique states : The enveloping movement of the Dublin Guards in the Sackville-street area is neai'ing completion. All the Irregulars have been driven out of Earl-street, and .the Irregulars in the Gresham Hotel and adjoining buildings are completely surrounded. . ■ ■ '
