DE VALERA'S CHIEF OF STAFF
A FOUR COURTS' EPISODE.
(Received July 3, 11 a.ip.)
LONDON, 2nd July. Sir. de "Valera, in his headquarters at the Gresham Hotel, has Oscar Traycor, formerly commandant of the Dublin Brigade, as his chief military adviser.
A letter has been published suggesting that on Friday Traynor ordered Rory O'Connor to surrender the Four^ Courts on the ground that Traynor was unable to fight hiß-way to O'Connor, and that he could do better if the Four Courts was surrendered. The message ?nded: "I, as your senior officer, am entitled to order you to make a move whjcli places me in a better military position." There is no evidence, however, that O'Connor obeyed.
