REVOLUTION OR REFORM?
The British; Labour Party Conference is reported to -, have decided against (making" any alliance or electoral arrangement with* any section " of Liberals or Conservatives.^ " This month the New Zealand Labour Conference will be >sked to decide ;a question —whether an electoral : arrangement shall' be made between the, Labour Party- led by Mr. Holland and-the Liberals led by Mr.-Wil-ford.1 From the cabled proceedings it wouldappear that a Republican movement in ;the British Labour Party is showing/ some.!,activity, and that in proportion as "it advances 'the ballot-box prospects of Labour are likely to Retreat..; It is hard to see what appeal a Republican propaganda, can make. If the aim is to create a Kepublic on the line's.'of the United States, -the extremists who urge the destruction of capitalism, can have no real. interest in- it, t because where is. there ■■'■ a State more; i capitalistic than the iUnited States Republic?
