The story .is -told- of a forced landing of d London to Paris, air express, carried out with such skill that not only were the passengers unperturbed; but one of them also remained sound asleep. Between the French coast and Le BoUrget, whan the aeroplane was 1000 ft up, engine trouble developed, and Mr. H. Shaw, the pilot, had to' manoeuvre very rapidly to ensure a safe landing. Circling and "banking,1" he alighted, pulled his "express" up smartly, and went to the saloon to reassure his passengers. Ho founcl thorn quite unmoved, aiid one who had been taking a "nap" in the air was still fast aaleep in his luxurious armchair..
