DUNEDIN, This Day. Edward Eedley Kitchener Hughes (24), a Government Savings Bank officer, was committed for sentence for the theft of £1000. Defendant in a statement admitted that he retained and cashed the cheque, and after using £200 to make up moneys previously tampered with, put the remaining £800 into a business at Woodside, where he was arrested.
