EMPRESS THEATRE.
Two fine pictures commence to-day at the Empress Theatre.' The first picture is " Something Different," from the novel " Calderon's Prisonfr," by Alice Duer Miller, and stars Constance Binney.. The story deals with a bored New York debutante, who goes to Latin America-.m search of "something different." She; finds what she seeks in the little Re-; public of Santiago, where soft-voiced cavaliers strum guitars and serenade their ladies on starry .nights, and all is fair in love and war. The'other feature is "Back Pay," by the well-known' writer, Fannie Hurst; and stars Seena, Owen and Matt Moore. It deals -with a country girl who had a " crepe ;de chine" soul, and found country life too slow. She leaves her 'country sweetheart behind and journeys to New York, where she soon gets into a gay circle, and leads a life as gay as any of her circle. The story works through her life till finally she is brought bacjbby the triumph of steadfast love.:' The supports are " The Gingham" Girl",'.' a Mack Sennett comedy, Gaumont gazette," and travelogue. The Empress Orchestra will play a bright programme of music. ' ■
