TAITA CEMETERY

A conference of the local bodies interested in the Taita Cemetery was held at Lower Hutt last evening. There were present the trustees—Messrs. M. W. Welch (chairman), J. W. M'Ewan, William Judd, and Alsop; also Messrs. C. P. Brockelbank, G. Cook (Potone Borough); W. T. Strand and W. N. Dempsey (Lower Hutt Borough), and Foley (Hutt County). It was. decided to recommend the trustees to approach the local bodies and request them to act promptly in acquiring 115 acres for extending the cemetery, also to provide a caretaker's cottage and road tho present cemetery.
