PROTESTANT POLITICAL ASSOCIATION
The Protestant Political Association continued its sittings yesterday afternoon under the, chairmanship of Mr. Ewen M'Gregor. Bemits were agreed to as follow:— ' ■'.-■/'. .
"That the council make some protest against the continuance of the British Envoy at the Vatican." "That the P.P.A. of New Zealand link or affiliate with other siliilar associations of the English-speaking world for exchange of minutes and lecturers." "That the incoming executive-take into consideration the advisability: of establishing a State orphanage, and that provision be made for the religitus education of its inmates."
The election of officers resulted as follows:^—President, Mr. Ewen M'Gregor; vice-presidents, Messrs. 6. T. Hai'ford, ■I. Bridges, and J. Gerrie; executive, Misses E. W. Ashman, Fagan, A. S. Scott, T. T. Garland, and Gibson;, treasurer, Mr. W. Nicol; national lecturer, the Rev. Howard Elliott; secretary, Mr. H. S. Bilby. The remainder of the evening was spent in Reaffirming resolutions passed at previous councils, and the adoption of others necessitated by the fresh undertakings adopted by the council. Appreciative votes of thanks were accorded to the officials whose labours had made the council sefesior.s of a harmonious and successful character. '. , ' ' '" ■■ .
