After nine years' service Mr. F. J. 'Gaze has left Lyall Bay school, where he has been second assistant teacher, his appointment as head at J?a«kakaTiki having already been announced. On Wednesday he was entertained by the (pupils of Standards V. and VI. at afterinoon tea, and presentations were made to him by Nancy Sandford and Bernard French, on behalf of the pupils. Later, at a gathering of the teaching staff, Mr. iA. 0. Blake spoke in eulogistic terms of the service Tendered by Mr. Gaze to.tie school, and on behalf1 of the staff made ihim a handsome present. In the evening the committee entertained the departing teacher at a social gathering at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. 'Evans, Queen's Drive, when the committee's deep regret was expressed at tihe 3oss the school would sustain -by Mr. Gaze's removal. An illuminated address and several presents were handed to Mr. Gaze from the committee.
