The first batch of a number cf petitions asking for the reinstatement of bookmakers were presented to Parliament yesterday afternoon. The bulk of these were in , the charge of Labour members, and something more than abroad smile went round* the Chamber when Mr. J. M'Combs (Lyttelton) was found to be among those entrusted with one of them.
