PETONE FIRE BOARD

QUARTERLY MEETING.

Hie quarterly meeting of the Petone Fire Board was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs. J. W. M'Ewan (chairman), Bews, Parton, Bean, Cook, and Kerr. Superintendent Gaynor presented the following report :—"ln submitting my report for the quarter ending 30th. June," 1922, I beg to state that tho brigade has been called out on thiree occasions, none of them being serious, and no damage being done. The plant, appliances, and alarm system are in firstclass order. Another new axle had. to be procured for the right-hand 'wheel of the" motor, as the old) one was badly twisted, and liable to break at a.ny time. The work- and conduct of the men are in every way satisfactory." The estimates for the year were approved, tho proportions being allocated as follow :—Government £50, Borough Council £663, insurance companies £563.
