LONDON, 18th June.
Lycett has been compelled to retire, owing- to rheumatism in his playing shoulder, caused by his playing 143 games on Friday. He woke ,up on Saturday with a severe pain in the shoulder, and consulted, a doctor, who bandaged him. He had trouble when he began to serve against Kinj?scot.e, and it" is doubtful whether lit- will recover in time to play iv t-lie doubles against Italy.
