INTER-ISLAND MATCH

NOMINATIONS OF PLAYERS.

Nominations of players for places in the North and South Island teams t close to-day. The names submitted by the Wellington selectors are as follow:— Full-back: B. Brook (Athletic). Three-quarter: G. G. Aitken ('Varsity).

Five-eighths: S. K. Siddells ("Varsity), M. Nicholls (Petone). Half-back: H. E. Nicholls (Petone). Forwards: S. Shearer, hooker (Poneke), U. P. Calcinai (Poneke), C. B, Thomas ('Varsity), J. Moffitt, lock (OrL ental). .

Aitken, Siddells, the Nicholls brothers, and Moffitt represented New Zealand last year against the Springboks.

From other districts nominations have been received as follow:—

North .Auckland: B. Fletcher, C. Fletcher (All Black last year), R. Cavanagh, S. Crawford, and J. Hamilton.

Hawkes Bay: J. Blake (three-quarter), M. Brownlee and J. M'Nab (forwards). Blake is at present on tour with the New Zealand Maori team.

Taranaki: C. N. Kingston (full-back), P. Hickey (wing-three-quarters), and A. H. West, R. Fogarty, J. Kissick, and H. Masters (forwards). Kingston, West, and Fogarty were New Zealand representatives last year.

Wairarapa: J. Donald (wing-forward), A. Desmond (front-ranker), and W. Devine (lock). Donald represented New Zealand last year.

. Wanganui: E. A. Bellis (forward, any position^ T. Baddeley (half-back), W. Ross (break-away forward), • and P. O'Connell (hooker). Bellis represented New Zealand last year. ;

Manawatu: A. F. Carroll (forward), and K. Glendenning (back, usually wing-three-quarter). . King Country: P. Byrne (centre three-quarter), F. Baddely (second fiveeighth), H. Harvey (hooker), L: Harty (break-away), R. Harty' (break-away), J. Heise (wing-forward or break-away), B. Hum (forward).

Nelson: W. Re»d (five-eighth), E. Snow (forward), E. Langbein (forward). Canterbury: L. Peterson, A. Frame, E. Cummings, W. Cummings, and 0. Turpin (forwards), B. Kirwin (halfback), W. A. Ford, R. H. Ford, and W. Brown (three-quarters), N. Carnegie, and F. Smyth. South Canterbury: P. W. Storey (three-quarter), R. Logan (five-eighth), W. Shea, R. Stewart, and A. Scott (forwards).

Southland: A. White (forward), L. Cockroft (lock or support), and C. St. George (half-back).

The selectors will meet at an early date to choose the teams. The match is to be played at Auckland on the let July.
