SYDNEY, Bth JUne, Though officially the embargo againstGermah trade does not expire in Australia till Ist August, the trade will be resumed, after eight years, with the departure of the Commonwealth steamer Port.J3urtis frbm Hamburg to-day. The departure was arranged so_ that the vessel will reach Australia after the embargo lapses. It is reported that other lines intend to enter the trade, and it is anticipated that the strong | German competition will regain its prewar footing.. (Received June 9, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Other shipping lines besides British and German competing for the German' Australian trade include the steamers of the Norwegian-Australia lino and of the Holland-Australian line. The former are in the habit of calling regularly at Hamburg to load Continental cargo other than German for Australia. The Dutch line proposes running a four-weekly service.
