Duncan (145), Taylor (148), Leach (149), Williamson and Jolly (151), Anderson, Havers, and M'Minn (151), Hutchison and M'Neill (152), Bay, Ockenden, and Robertson (153), Mitchell, Compston, Renonf, Smith, and Turner (154), and Vardon (155) qualified, aad Braid failed to qualify. , ■ Duncan missed a two-foot putt at the last green to equal Kirkwood. Compston, despite a seven at the first hole, had seventy-one to his credit. Vardon took eleven shots at the tenth, where he drove twice out of bounds from the tee.
