■Mr. P. M'Cracken, of Auckland, who proceeded to the Old Country a short time ago^ has "won a striking- success by having some of Ma paintings, hung at the Royal Scottish Academy exhibition. Some artists deck.ro that this is a higher honour than "hanging" at. the Royal Academy. Mr. M'Qracken painted in New Zealand for a year after his return from the war, where he was wounded and lost a leg. Two of his paintings are m the Wellington Art Gallery—a fine portrait in water-colour, and a Surrey landscape.
