Mr. Clutha Mackenzie, M.P., and Mrs. Mackenzie returned to Heretaunga yes* terday from , Auckland. Mr. Mackenzie will go North again in a few days >• connection with Parliamentary and Pearson Memorial Fund business. Mr. J. Foss, headmaster of the Carterton District High School,, and recently of the Eketahuna District High Sc!»jol, has been promoted to the headmastership of the Levin District High School, where he takes charge on Ist August. Mr. R. H. Biggar, M.A., who has been for seven years on the staff of the Wellington Boys' College, and has now been appointed first assistant at the Ashburton High School, was this morning the recipient of several presentations:. From the staff a travelling rug, from the boys an oak and silver salad bowl and biscuit barrel suitably inscribed, 'and from the boys of his form, sc, a special presentation.
