CHURCHES IN DARKNESS

ELECTRIC LIGHTS GO OUT.

The old Collect beginning, "Lighten our Darkness We Beseech Thee," was never more appropriate in the churches in Seatoun and Lyall Bay districts than last night, when the. electric lights were suddenly extinguished during service, and remained , out for about twenty minutes. Candles were much in demand, and where they could be requisitioned they shone their' feeble glow. The trouble was due to a fuse blowing out on one of the "boosters" nearl the Kilbirnie Post Office. As soon asjthe. matter was reported to the authorities at the'lighting station, men were\sent' out to' renew the fuse.
