A MAN DROWNED
(IT 7ILEORAPII.—rRBSS ASSOOIMIOK.) DARGAVILLE, This Day. Three men, Mac Donald, Anderson, and Charles Fleming, left Dargaville,on Saturday night on a fishing expedition in a launch on the river.' When between Jock's Point ajid Aratapu, the ratter, who, was in charge of the launch, got up on deck to* open a case of benzine. It is surmised that he overbalanced and fell in the river. He sang out to his companions that he was all right. They, could not, however,1 see him, and not being able to handle tho launch could not search for him. Their cries brought assistanco from .passers by, but by this time Fleming had disappeared. Search parties have been out ever\ since, but have found no trace.. Deceased was a taxi-driver, and a very strong swimmer, but in the darkness he wdrjld not have much chance, as a strong tide was running. He was a married nian, and leaves a wife and three children.
