WELLINGTON GIRLS' COLLEGE PREPARATORY SCHOOL

The Wellington Girls' College Preparatory School opens next Tuesday at the new St. Andrew's Hall on the Terrace. This building, with its fine hall and numerous class-rooms, gives good opportunity for expansion, and there is a convenient playground adjoining. Mrs. Ward, from lona College, has been appointed to the position of headmistress, and is assisted by a staff of certificated teachers. Mrs. Ward studied at Otago University and holds a teacher's certificate as well as certificates in drawing and other practical work. She held the position of head teacher for several years under the Southland Education Board, leaving to take charge of St. John's Girls' Invercargill. After a successful career in, the South, Mrs. Ward was appointed to the staff of lona College, a position she has held for the past two years.' Mrs. Ward's qualifications, experience, and personality fit her exceptionally well for carrying out successfully the responsible work she has now undertaken.
