"M.8." (Picton)—F. Tilley has trained three winners of the New Zealand Cup, ■viz., Frisco, Lady Lucy, and Oratress. "W.G.N." (Napier)— The only two men who have succeeded in swimming the English Channel are Captain Webb, ■who accomplished the feat on 24th and 25th August, 1875, and T. W. Burgess, who did it on sth' and 6th September, 1911. - ' .
"Breeder" (Hawera).—Maharanui raced for six or seven seasons, imd won quite a number of fiat and hurdle races along the West Coast.
"R.J.H." (Masterton). —Ngata was withdrawn from the Great Northern Hurdles at 4.15 p.m. on Tuesday last.
