The Hon. W. Downie Stewart, Minster of Customs and Internal Affairs, has returned to Wellington from Dunedini
Mr. J.1 H. Jerram, Deputy-General Manager State Fire Office, has been elected a member of the Public Service Superannuation Board.
The funeral of the late Mr. F. A. Kemple, who was for many years a member of the mechanical staff of the New Zealand Times, was held yesterday afternoon, the interment taking place at Karori Cemetery. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Basilica by the Revw Father Mahoney, S.M., who also officiJ, ated at the graveside. The chief mourners were Messfs. M'Brearty and Condliffe (relatives), and Mr. W. Blick (printer, New Zealand Times), and the pall-bearers were provided by the staff of the Times. Among those present were the Hon. W. J. Geddis, M.L.C. (managing editor of the Times), Mr. G. H. Dixon (business manager), Mr. R. Stickney (president of the .Wellington Typographical Union), Dr. Charles Morice, and representatives of. the .West Coasters' Associations. ■ . !
