ISLAND BAY SURF CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Island Bay Life-saving and Surf Club was held last evening, Mr. S. C. Mayall presiding over about thirty members. The annual report, details of which have been published, was adopted. The financial statement showed a satisfactory state of affairs, the principal items being :—Credit: Sale of costumes; £25; annual subscriptions, £29. Debit: Costumes, £20; club equipment, £13 17s 2d ; trophies and engraving, £10. The chairman, Mr. Mayall, briefly referred to the excellent position revealed by the financial statement. He commented upon the thoroughly successful season which had been enjoyed, and hoped and felt confident that the ensuing year would be just as successful. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows :—President, Mr. B. Lewis; vicepresidents, Messrs. H. E. Odlin, C. C. Odlin, S. C. Heal, R. A. Wright, M.P., L. J. Brabin, G. Mitchell M.P., J. O. Shorland, H. F. H. Bird, M. Dicker. G. M'Key, X E. Avcry, F. Laws, M. Rustican ; executive committee—Captain, A. G. Russell; lady superintendent, Mrs. J. Conder; hon. secretary, Mr. George J. Spriggins; hon. treasurer, Mr. P. H. Willis; hon. auditors, Messrs. G. W. T. Beckett and J. Bruce; vice-captain, Mr. R. Beveridge; committee, Misses L. Skinner, K. Skinner, and Messrs. J. Conder, L. Allen, A. Dicker; delegates to Wellington centre, Messrs. George 3. Spriggins, A. T. Russell; delegates to Royal Life-saving Society, Messrs. R. Beveridge, and A. Dicker.
