NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. In t;he Supreme Court, George William Clarke, a jockey, who was found guilty last week of false pretence's and stealing a cheque, was sentenced this morning to six months' imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be concurrent. ■■'.'.
After many unsuccessful attempts, the Dresden porcelain works have achieved the manufacture of porcelain bells. A carillon of 60 such bells is to bo hung in tlio bo!fry of the parish church, ot Meissen, the'lar^ost. hieing 27J, inches in <liameter.
