The departure of the steamer Devon, which was to have sailed from Lyttelton this afternoon for Avonmouth, has been delayed owing to a section of her bunkers having become heated. After a survey was made jt was decided to discharge the coal from the section affected. About 150 tons will have to be shifted and then loaded again. It is expected the Devon will sail on Wednesday.
