To-day prices of ' men's clothes and "trimmings," as compared with rates current in July last, formed the oubjeot of inquiry by the Christchurch Star. The Tesult was the following price list with the quotations for July, 1921, in parentheses : —Tailor-made suits : Good serge, £11 (£l3 13s); Oxford "greys, £10 (£12); Scottish woollens, £10 (£l2 12s). Boots : Men's box calf (English), £2 12s 6d (£3 3s); New Zealand box. calf £2 12s 6d (£2 17s 6d) ; cocks, 5s (7s 6d); shirts, 13s 6d (17s 6d) j overcoats, £6 10s (£8 10a); English fur'hats, £1 7s 6d (£1 15s); Caps, 5s 6d (8s 6d)'; soft oollum, Is 6d (2s 6d) ; linen collars, Is 3di (Is 6d); ties, 4s 6d (6s 6d.); braces, 4b 6dr (4s 6d); coat sweaters £2 '&■ 6d (£2 17s 6d) j'scarves, £1 2s 6d (£2 ss). The Star's comment wai that the reductions, though satisfactory, are "nothing to grow excited aboili."
